The charging with the lava is a nice idea and otherwise it's not that old school, at least by the looks. The gameplay pretty is old school with the difficulty, though. Even if you get to the bottom of the screen, you have to be really good to actually destroy some of the turrets, instead of just focusing on dodging their shots.
